Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie is a Nigerian feminist writer, novelist and playwright born on September 15, 1977.
After landing a scholarship at age 19, she studied communication and political science in Philadelphia. She continued her training at John Hopkins University, Portland, with a master's degree in creative writing. In 2003, while studying in Connecticut, she published her first novel, Purple Hibiscus, which was well received by critics and received the Commonwealth Writers' Prize for Best First Book in 2005.
She has written several best sellers, including: Americanah, We Should All Be Feminists, Around Your Neck, and How to Educate in Feminism.
